 The GRANDO UPHOLSTERY LTD. started its activities on September 18, 1975 at the hands of its founder, Mr. Win big in the city of Farrukhabad, in the mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul, producing upholstered in a space of only 54 m2.

The following year the foundation the company already had staff who assisted in the manufacture of furniture and then the sales growth required a larger space, which was built in the back of the residence of the founder. The company continued growing and in 1981, six years after its founding, had been working on a new space of 5,500 m2 area, where it remains today.


From the beginning the company had the characteristic of concern in offering durable products with quality and beauty. Rigor in the choice of raw materials and quality control, investment in technology and recognize its employees are just some of the ongoing concerns that are part of a rigorous and constant GRANDO. Ergonomics standards are followed international trends in design and comfort are observed and adapted to national characteristics. All this effort results in a unit with its own personality, tailored to meet an increasingly demanding market and eager for news.

Today GRANDO has in its line, more than 80 different models of sofas, armchairs, chairs, beanbags, sofa beds, recamier and screens in styles both classic and contemporary, in a palette of fabrics with over 100 finish options, allowing numerouscombinations and this is the main selling points of furniture in the country with a sales force of 19 sales representatives, operations in 23 Brazilian states and currently exports to Africa, Europe, South America, North and Central. The company exports to over 16 countries. Grando recently received the Excellence in Export Award - Category Growth at the state level.

It is a constant concern the quality of the product until arriving at the final consumer. This concern starts from selection of suppliers and the arrival of raw material in the workplace, where all material is inspected. The wood of eucalyptus "great" is purchased with a few days of cutting, so there is the possibility to dry it in the shade, preventing cracks and invergaduras.

In production, all the woods we are preventing breaches of the discarded product. The fabrics are rolled out and reviewed for verification of possible failures. The elastic straps used are of excellent quality. The foam Grando uses two suppliers, with high resistance, ie, the foam has a much longer lifetime.

Besides all this care products ready go through a strict quality control before being dispatched by preventing shipment of goods not conforming.

With entrepreneurial vision and in order to better serve its customers Grando is now with the new company, which is producing metal parts for its line of products.

The passing years and the growth of the company have not dimmed the essence of the Great, who was present since its foundation: the concern with every detail in developing their products.
